Professor William Scott-Jackson, Chairman

Professor William Scott-Jackson is Chairman of Oxford Strategic Training and Oxford Strategic Consulting which carries out practitioner oriented research and consultancy in HR Strategy and Strategic Talent Management. William is also a Visiting Academic at Oxford University, a member of the Vice Chancellor’s Circle and a member of Pembroke, St Cross and Kellogg Colleges. He is also a member of the Campaign Board of Keble College. He spends 40% of his time carrying out research and consulting in the UK/Europe and 60% in the Gulf and is a regular advisor on HR strategy and process design and talent management at key management events including the SABIC Riyadh Global HR Conference and the IIR Middle East HR Summit. Recent publications include “Strategic Differentiating Capabilities” published in Strategic HR Review May/June 2011. He is also the author of the Chartered Management Institute’s Guide to managing human capital and the CIPD guide to HR Outsourcing. He, and his team, carry out research, advise and organise conferences on strategic management issues as guided by his Advisory Board of c40 senior Directors from large global organisations. William is an advisor for the Arabian Society of Human Resource Management, academic advisor to the Chartered Management Institute’s Human Capital Working Group, a member of the CMI Academic Advisory Board and the CIPD Professional Standards Faculty. He is a regular advisor to public and private institutions in the Middle East and Europe. Recent research and consulting projects include:

Scott Druck, CEO
Scott has led HR organisation and process development programs in a wide range of industries. With a Big 5 Consulting background and mid-cap and start-up experience, he has an excellent combination of global best-practice knowledge and “real world” approaches. He is particularly expert at translating strategy into effective HR processes and ensuring the needs of the Board and other stakeholders are met throughout the program delivery. Scott has also led numerous capability build, transformation and performance improvement programs.
Scott holds an MSc in Applied HR Systems and has authored a number of highly regarded articles and papers, including publications for Strategic Human Resources Review and reports on national talent development. Scott is regularly asked to speak on capability development at international conferences, including a CEO Forum for international leaders in Brussels.
Debbie Whitaker
Debbie has performed a variety of senior global human resources (HR) leadership roles at major global companies. Her HR experience also includes the FMCG, oil and gas, and professional services sectors.
Debbie is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a guest lecturer on Nottingham University Business School’s MBA programme. She was a member of the CIPD’s Human Capital Panel, shaping standards for human capital measurement. Debbie graduated from the London School of Economics, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma and an MA in HR Management.
Tim Newham
Tim Newham is a leader in the practical implementation of technology to support HR Processes and an expert in Survey design and implementation. Following an education in systems engineering and work with major consultancies in Human Resource strategy, for the past 8 years Tim has led multi-disciplinary teams helping large organizations specify, implement and make the best use of HR technology and surveys. Tim has led the implementation of over 50 large HR projects, and was also the program lead in implementing a web-based performance and development system for the UK’s National Health Service – an organization with in excess of 1,000,000 people across 600 separate organizations. Tim brings to this project an ability to work with business leaders to help them articulate their HR and survey technology strategies, and translate this into practical plans for high impact survey design and the use of technology to enhance HR processes.
Rida Kariem
Rida leads a large amount of OSC’s liaison with clients in the Gulf and also has an expertise in the area of customer service having worked in some of the most challenging customer service environments including management roles in the hospitality and airline industries.
Rida brings with him a highly practical and experience based approach to providing excellent customer service and also, as a native Arabic speaker, provides on the spot language support if required on OSC’s development programmes in the Gulf. Rida also manages the relationships with OSC’s various partner organisations in the Gulf.
Rida has recently been involved in a customer service related project involving one of the highest profile capital investments in the Gulf region.
Mike Cole
Mike is a double Masters graduate of the University of Wales and of the University of Georgia (Atlanta) in both Analysing and Managing Human Services and Islamic and Christian Theology, Philosophy History and Culture.
Mike has a long and distinguished career in public services in the United Kingdom in the development of organisations and their workforce. He has an international reputation as a vocational education/qualifications specialist and has been involved on a national level in the four UK countries in reforming vocational education for the UK workforce.
His roles have involved modernising workforce education and qualifications, advising Chief Executives of major organisations in the UK as well as government ministers in national vocational education policy and development. He has been a key member of policy implementation boards in driving the reform of vocational learning in the UK and in the quality assurance of qualifications from entry level to post graduate level and in the regulation of qualifying degrees.
Mike’s particular specialisms are in the creation, development, quality assurance and regulation of workforce learning, and he enjoys a national and international reputation as an innovator and technical expert.
Richard Cullen
Richard is a highly experienced senior HR process expert who was previously HR Director for the UK Government’s National Probation service and Learning & Development Director for the Metropolitan Police (Scotland Yard). He wrote the NPS’ People Management Strategy ‘Achieving Through People’ which has been acknowledged as ‘best in class’ by the Government’s Accounting For People task Force. He also took the top 500 managers of the Metropolitan Police through a highly effective leadership programme. He has talked extensively on leadership and HR issues both to police and non-police organisations. As HR Director he raised the Hammersmith Division to Investors in People accreditation, leading to an Institute of Directors’ (London) Award. He piloted the Business Excellence Model on the division and this was subsequently adopted as the standard performance model for the MPS, taking the Division to the final round of the international EFQM Awards. He has lectured nationally and internationally on contingency planning and the policing of public events and is a qualified Business Coach.
Scott Owens
Scott is one of OSC’s lead researchers. Working with our subject matter and technical experts, Scott regularly assists clients with making informed and robust decisions around strategy, sales and marketing, resourcing and other business critical areas.
Scott has spent his career working with global brands and public sector organisations to maximise the insight they achieve from their research activities. He is an expert in quantitative and qualitative research methods and is a full member the of the Market Research Society, UK. Scott holds a degree in Social Science and a postgraduate diploma in Social and Market Research.
Scott has managed large scale global fieldwork projects across a wide variety of methodologies including online, CATI, mobile and face to face. He is highly skilled in SPSS survey analytics software and is committed to using industry-standard statistical techniques like significance testing, sub group analysis, factor analysis and regression. He is also an expert in data presentation, including the use of infographics and the latest data visualisation techniques.
